I am about to order a new rear tire for the 90' KDX200. Current tire size is 120 / 90 - 18. According to the manual it came new with a 100 / 100 - 18. What exactly is the difference? Will the wheel accomodate either size? I do mostly woods, trail, riding in wet and dry conditions so I'll go w/intermediate tire, but the sizes have me puzzled.

Thanks!

This is how I understand it:

120 = Width (mm)
90 = Aspect Ratio (%)
18 = Rim Diameter (in)

The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width to the sidewall height, i.e. The sidewall height = 120 x 0.90 = 108mm

If you like the 120/90 then stick with it. Very few KDX owners around here stay with the stock size once it comes time to buy a new tire. Most go with the 110/100-18

Thanks for the info. So as long as the rim size is the same....

That tire size seems to work for me. BTW, Rocky Mountain has some excellent prices on M12 tires.

A while back I posted a question about tire sizes. I got some FANTASTIC information from some very knowledgeable folks.
