I do have some good news to report. My dad finally got about 5 hours of sleep last night. That is the most rest he has had in over 7 days! YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN HEARD! He is improving so, right now, it looks as if he WILL survive this round. Our concern now is keeping him out of pain. Seems morphine puts him out of his mind and demerol is not enough, but we will find something that works for him. Faith is one thing that we will NEVER lose and our hope is not of this world so don't think we have given up, it's not an option. Maybe he can improve enough that, eventually, he can continue his cancer treatments but right now, it just not possible. There is only so much that the medical community can do. THANK YOU for your continued support and a special thanks to bswift and ol'89r for their offer of personal consultation. Thanks to Okie and the moderators for keeping this thread up. I knew I could count on the members of DRN for help because you have helped me over the past several months already, without even knowing it. :worship:
Please continue your prayers, it IS working.
John

I will say prayers for him.
My father in law was diagnosed to live 6 months just 2 months ago with throat cancer, He had all the radiation he could have in a life time and they just decided to byopsy or cut out everything. Byopsy revealed no cancerous cells anymore. The Dr's even said it was a miracle.
Answered prayers... He still has a very long way to go... but the prayers will be there.

John,
Sorry to hear about your dad, but just to let you know (in case you haven't noticed) there's a bunch praying for you including myself, so take comfort in the fact that God has His hand in this situation. Hang in there.

Don't ever loose hope. My father in law was told he had inoperable lung cancer and emphsema (sp?) and had 6 months to live. Well that was 30 years ago and he is still alive today. He's not the picture of health but he gets around and was alive to see his daughter graduate high school, get married and have grand kids.

Keep the faith man.

My deepest condolences.  The offer still stands.  Don't hold the emotions in, the pain of loss is severe but will heal with time, let go, you'll never forget.  My prayers are with you and yours.

Brian
