Tranny Noise??

Hey all;

Took a "boy's only" trip over the last 4 days and went riding at Hollister Hills here in Northern Calif.  It was a blast, but on to my question.  I noticed some rattling from the transmission on my '03 250exc.  It performs flawlessly, the oil is fresh, and the level is correct.  I am not sure if it is a new "noise" or if it has been there and I just noticed it.  Anyway the best description I can give (I know alot of you can relate) is it sounds like a kdx transmission.  More audible when clutch is engaged.

Lew, The clutch baskets in these bikes make a rattle at idle, usually lessens when clutched, but that is nothing to worry about. If the tranny is making noise it will probaly do it in gear and under power.
