Triple Clamps and Bars

I just bought my 02 CR250, and I had a question about the bars. Right now it has some TAG bars with no crossbar, but they seem to low, I want them higher. Is that what the Triple clamps are for? Also will those bars be a little taller after I put the triple clamps or should I get a different set? Dont really know much about dirtbikes yet. :cool:

The easiest (cheapest) solution is probably to buy a set of bars with more rise. Most of the big bar manufacturers offer numerous bar geometry configurations.

Bear in mind that if you're new to dirtbikes or have just gotten back into it after a long hiatus, the seat-pegs-bar relationship is quite a bit different than it used to be. In particular, the seat and bar height will be much closer, giving the feeling of sitting 'on' the bike rather than 'in' it.

Then again, you don't want to be banging your knees on your bars. ;)

It really just comes down to personal preference.
