I kinda jumped the gun a little and bought my son a 90, to replace his 50 (as a present, so he wasn't there), and the 90 is to tall :bang: . Any one have an easy way to lower it? I haven't really looked at it, just came here first, for ideas in case some one has already done this. Not really concerned with bottoming out, since he isn't riding hard yet. Just need the lower seat height.

maybe turn down the preload on the shock. Only way I can think of. Be careful, cuz those pegs will drag on a mouseturd.

The only way I can think of to do it properly would be to lower the shock preload, raise the forks an inch in the triple clamps (I'm sure you know what that'll do to the handling and high speed). I'm sure since it's new you probably don't want to mess with it that much, but you can modify the subframe. It'd be handy if you were a welder to do this. I have never done this, my only concern would be that if you lower it too much, you'll tweak the seat at the gas tank junction. There's always shaving the seat foam, too. That's something you can do yourself. Let us know.

I dont think there is any way to lower it at all. I have a TTR90 for my son. The forks cannot be lowered in the clamps ( there is not a convenional clamp on it) and there is no preload that you can change on the rear shock. I think you are out of luck on that one. My son could just barley touch on his tippy toes when I got it for him and within a few months he was flat footing it. I wouldn't sweat the bike being a little too tall. Kids can adapt to a bike easier than you would think.

When I got home last night, I looked at it, and I didn't see an easy way. As you said, no way on the forks, and couldn't see any way to move the shock. Thought about the seat foam, and decided he could ride the 50 a while longer. He did to when I held it up for him and he hit the throttle and almost took out the side of my F250 Crewcab. "Dad, I need to grow a lil more..." He's 5, almost 6. I think his quick, well thought out answer shows his intelligence more so than what I was showing when I bought it. But a good deal is hard to pass up...
...and as was said, he will grow...

Thanks guys...

My prediction:

By the end of this summer, your little pal will be riding that 90 like he was born on it.
