Anyone know where they can be bought and if they are any good? Looking to replace the CDI on my gasgas ec300.

Never heard of a "universal CDI".
You could just buy this:

Why don't you put your modified KDX CDI on it and see if it works? (check timing before and after with a timing light)
I did that swap on my Suzuki AX100 and it ran much better. Now I leave the four strokes behind when we race from the stoplight.
