We use Emig 20mm offset clamps on a 2002 CRF450 for increased trail with excellent results including improved tracking and steering with no instability issues, . This results in about 113mm of trail vs 109 stock. Current YZ's claim about 117mm of trail with a similar head angle. Do you know of anyone who uses and likes additional offset and trail on current CR250's? The stock 02/03 Cr250 has only about 106mm to107mm of trail with the standard 24mm clamps. The fork rake of the CR250 is about .5 degee steeper than the CR 450 or YZ and this along with weight distribution may result in problems with additional offset on the CR250.
Thanks for the response but I should have said have you found anyone who prefers LESS offset such as 22mm vs stock 24 mm on the CR250? This, ofcourse, produces the ADDITIONAL trail. Does this change your answer? Tom Morgan Racing has recommended the 22mm clamps for the 250. Sorry for the confusion.
Yes in this case we have heard of it.
We have had only a chosen few that have felt this was a good idea, or felt they needed it. We have not tested it. I guess this one is a matter of opinion.
