The low tension will give you better low end, high tension for top end. Either setting will yeild better performance than stock. If you are a high rever, use the high tension setting. The low tension setting lets the reeds flex more and winding out the engine will wear then out faster. I shortshift and rarely wind it out and have 2 years on the low tension setting with now signs of wear.
