What are the "rings" on a dirtbike? I've heard people talking about replacing them on their bikes but I never knew what they where. Are they part of the engine? If so where are they in the engine, if not where are they on the bike.What do they do? Just wondering. Ruth

Rings are inside the engine cylinder.. They are located at the top of the piston.. They make a seal in the cylinder too compress the fuel so it will ignite.. On 2-stroke motors, they should be replaced periodically.. I change mine at the beginning of the season..
