They quit making them...

07 was the last year for the Honda's

Kawi still makes them, but I don't think they do for the US markets.

That's a pity, I really like 2 strokes. I may be wrong but I think that there is still alot of ways to improve them.

yes its sad... but at least some of the euro marques are still investing research and development into the 2strokes. i see on ktm's website they now even make a 150sx! cool.
watching footage of some of the extreme off road events like the red-bull erzberg rodeo, over half of the riders are on 2t bikes.

The 150sx is still 144cc. They just updated the name, lol.

I can't believe there's no Pred tracks on this thread! Do some searching and you'll find lots of reasons the big 4 are letting the oil burners fade out. Yamaha is the only one to still add even minor updating to the smokers.

Two strokes are going away due to their technological irrelevance.

It's amazing how the luddites will make up "facts" to try and stave off their technological irrelevance, ain't it, Rich?

They will continue to make the 2T as long as BigFoot continues to ride them. :nener:

I'm thinking that in few years there will be many 4stroke racebikes showing up all over the place for real cheap. They will be cheap because they won't be running. Might be a great place for that old air cooled 500 2stroke motor. or an xr400 motor, or what have you. Looking forward to that.

Technological irrelevance? Now you are just putting big words together. Besides everybody knows that four strokes are blundering big blocks coupled with bodacious banter and big budgets! :nener:
