I am preparing to put a thin base gasket on my son's rm125 and was wondering what the effect of raising the top edge of the transfer ports about a half milimeter to one milimeter would be? Anyone tried this at home before? If so how was it?

One millimeter is alot.If you are lowering the cylinder why do you want to raise the transfers?if you decide to, you need a tool for the job as its very east to chip the plating.

ports

I was wanting to add a little bottom end and yes I did think about the plating. Could you do it with a dremel tool?

realized my error

Marcusgunby, last night I realized my thinking was wrong on wanting to raise the ports to add bottom. I see now that I would have to remove material from the bottom of the cylinder. Maybe the thin base gasket combined with the v force reed block will give me what I want.
