I got out of bikes and quads about 10 years ago when life took over and I had to join the real world. Now I am at a point where I can get back into it. I raced my 1986 Honda 250R on the ice and had many different bikes that I set up for strait line speed. I am going to be looking for a CR250R or a CR500R in the next couple of weeks. I am a 2 stroke guy and I will never be talked out of it. Now for the questions. Back in the day I used Trinity Racing for all of my motor work but I see they don't do dirt bikes. Who do you all use for porting and other machine work? Where do you guys get your aftermarket parts from? Back when I was doing this we had a local place that was a parts unlimited dealer and we got great prices but they are long gone. My plans for the bike will be,

Port and polished?
Head work?
Big Bore?
Clutch basket and clutch (hinson)
Carb?
Exhaust (FMF)
Intake?

One of the people I hear talked about here are Eric Gorr. Is this the guy to go to? Prices are fair and from what I read he does good work. Is there better out there? I can allready smell the Klots. Thank's

Man.... A tricked out 500 2 stroke is one heck of a bike to get back into the game on. What do you plan on doing with it? Are you going to go to casual riding, or right back into racing?

A 500 would be nice but it looks like all of you guys that have them don't want to sell them. I was never a big fan of starting small and finding out it needed to be bigger. I am going to have to settle for a 250 for now. I found a 2002 CR250 with new plastic still in the box and a bunch of other new stuff yet to be installed for $1700. It will be a couple of weeks before I can go pick it up but it should be a good place to start. I won't race any more. All trails and crazy speed stuff.
