Riding Places

Are there any riding places around College Station Texas. Tracks, woods trails...i'm interested in it all. I moved here last semester, and can only ride when i go home.

Check out the track in Bastrop. A little of a drive but snag a hotel room to stay for the weekend.

Hey Aggie!  This would get more responses in the "Places to Ride" forum.  I'll try to move it.

Just go for a spin on Kyle Field or take it to research park and blow through the creeks. J/K......I just graduate in May, and boy do I miss it. Good luck finding a place.

When my band was playing College Station there was a group of guys that always came out to see us play that were MXrs. I'm not sure where out there they rode but there is a track. It might be a private one though. I'm not sure how far it is to Bastrop from CS but I go there some. I've been to Cross Creek a few times, they have a night track with very good lighting and a big day track but I've never riden the day track. They have night practice on Wed till 11pm and usually not crowded at all, it's a 2 hour drive for me but it's worth it when you don't have any other time to ride. There's another track in Bastrop called Lakeside I think. I've never been but I hear it's where everyone goes. Practice is the same night.

Cross Creek MX is a good place to ride. Head south on 21 and it is 1 1/2 mile before you get to 290. I tried it for the first time this weekend and had a blast.

The National Forest out of New Waverly has a few miles of trails. (Maybe 80 by this summer) It's not open all the time though. Only when it's not raining too much. I worked in College Station and would estimate the drive at 45 min. to an hour. Phone # 936-344-6205 ext. 2 , this will tell you if the trails are open or not.

was it muddy? The last time I went (on a wed night) it was way to muddy for my taste. Believe me, I got a taste! I was on my 2nd lap when I went down in the corner after the step up - step down on the night track. When I put my arm down to pick myself up I sank all the way up to my mid chest and my head went half way under the mud. I bet it was 3' deep soup. Sticky too!

Hey Aggie06 I go to texas aTm and ride motorcoss also. I am also looking for people to ride with so if you are interested e-mail me at VinnyTAMU@hotmail.com . Anyways living here in College Station we live in the epicenter of some great tracks but none of the tracks are closer than about 40 miles. I have heard of a track in college station off of 2818 but I believe it is shut down never did see it. Anyways you have Cross Creek Mx in Bastrop off of Highway 21 which is an awsome track. http://www.crosscreekmx.com/index.jsp . Then there is a track in Waller (right next to Hempsted on Highway 29) called 290 Mx. http://www.290mx.com/ . Then there is three palms sport park in Conroe which I might be going to this saturday on I-45. http://www.esetrackbuilders.com/default.asp . And the last track that I know about is the track in Splendora. http://www.sanjacintocyclepark.com/Main Page.htm . Well hope this helps and let me know if you would like to ride sometime.
