Lately I'v been thinkin about it and I much rather work on my ol 81 MX175 than wrench on the liquid cooled 86 Husky I have. Now the ol MX is gettin a little small for me (I'm 17, 5'9 and about 210or so)

Now what air cooled two stroke would you all recommend for a guy that just wants to do some trail riding. I ride fairly hard but nothing crazy. Buddy of mine had a It465 a while back and I liked that bike but was a Bi@#h to start.

Now I'm not really thinkin about some dream bike like an 81 Maico or something I'm talking about something that could be easily riden and maintened and also have easily gotten parts.

Kinda like to get away from the autolube as well.

any reccomendations or ideas would

Thanks

An '86 - '88 KDX 200 would be worlds better than your 175 and still meets the  air cooled requirement.   It has a powervalve, though - if you want to get away from that, too, try an '83-85 KDX.  Still a nice step up from your 175.

If you are craving a big bore, the Honda CR480 was popular and seems better liked than the air cooled CR500 and air cooled KX500.

Dirt Bike Dave is on the money for the Japanese brands. 80's era husqvarnas are good because of the availability of parts and there is sort of a resurgence of their popularity. A shame folks figured out their value 20 years after it was too late.
