Which MX front number plate works best on the KDX?

I'm going to be putting a front number plate on my '02 200 soon. I've read the "how to" in the Tech Tips section, and I know most plates will work fine with a little trimming here and there.

What I was wondering is what plate has the BEST fit for the KDX. If you've made the switch on your bike, could you let me know what plate you used and how well it fit? Any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry, I keep forgetting to hit enter at the end of each line. The post

I have the 1995/1996 suzuki RM 125/250 front number plate. cost me about 22 bucks in US money, and it looks awesome. it has the fork guards on it, so you can take off the fork guard things. the only thing is you have to zip tie it on, but it stays in place without any problems.

I have a 2002 KDX 200.
I used a '98 KX 250 plate. Had to trim out around the fender and brake cable guide. Then cut the fork protectors off of it. Then drilled a hole to match the already present hole in the bottom triple clamp. Looks real good and no zip ties.
Take your time and you can make it look right.

DeSeRt_KaW,

FYI, where I ride and race in western PA the woods are super-tight, and
parts get broken on a regular basis from contact with trees. The headlight
is just something else to break that is expensive to replace. I only ride in
the daylight, so I don't need it. I'll put the stock light back on before I
sell the bike. Also, I don't know why you have to be such a dick about it.
No one's calling you a dumbass for riding an enduro bike in the desert.

jruggery, your question is well within reason. Many trail/woods riders who mount KDX's remove the light element or replace it entirely with a number plate for tons of reasons. I even switch back and forth depending on the ride coming up.

I have found that a 2001 UFO KX125 number plate works best. A dremel tool to trim in select areas makes for a professional look. :thumb:
