I have an 03 KX250 and I am thinking about buying an either a FMF or Pro Circuit pipe for it. Can you tell me which pipe has the best quiaity? I've heard that FMF has some fitment promlems for some reason.

Also, can you tell me where the power increases are for each pipe...I.E. on low end or midrange ect....

I'm really kinda new to all these pipes and such. Thanks for the help.

I dont know this from personal experience ... just stuff I read. The PC pipe takes away some low end but adds quite abit up top with a lot more rev. The FMF follows the stock power curve adding more power to it. My experience with both brands on other bikes has been a good fit. However I have heard others complain about the fit of both brands. In my opinion I dont think theres much difference in quality between the two. I would just buy the one with the powerband that suits you.

OK, thanks. One more thing, how do you know which silencer to use? Or does the FMF Fatty only use one specific silencer?

I have a slightly different bike, but I have an 01KX250 with an FMF SST pipe with turbine core , and absolutely love it, The KX's I have rode have no top end, and this bike gives them more top end, it also broadens the power range. I would buy that pipe again, I had no installation issues, EXCEPT that the expansion pipe is VERY close to the down tube of the frame. Hope this helps!! :thumb:

Both brands make 2 or more sillencers. Generaly speaking the shorter the silencer the better the low end snap. Also more noise. Longer ones are quieter and add a little bit of top end rev.
