alright so im pretty dumb im the first to admit it. so ive posted a couple of times on here with my ever problematic wr 250. well today i tried three things with success. here we go..
1 i got a new silencer fmf shorty in place of my bent turbine core..
2. i changed the oil, it was very silver/grey and over full
3. the dumb one... so my bike wouldnt rev, ran great down low but was flat at about 7000rpm so today i had it wide open and i flipped the choke the other way and POP SPUTTER SPUTTER BAMM!!! TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET. it was awesome then i stopped and had to adjust the idle but heres the funny part--the book tells me that down is off and up is on well, they are referring to the 97 yz carb with the choke button not the mikuni on my wr which has a lever. ok now laugh and call me dumb cuz all my life up was off and down was on and this was my newest bike by like 20 years so i was doin everything by the book... any how im dumb common sense from now on
4. Now after idling for 20 seconds or so the idle slowly starts picking up and up to about 3000 rpm and i snap the throttle and it goes backdown.... air leak???? wuddya think
i had to put it away for the day the cops got a guy down the street on an a.t.c. but ill be back on it for tommorow..
