Will stock valving work with aftermarket springs?

I'm looking to get my bike revalved and i'm going to need new springs. The last time i had my bike done, I had the bike for about 3 weeks and didn't really get enough seat time to know what I really wanted. So this time I want to take my time and try to tune the stock setup as much as i can so I know what I want done to it. Now, I know I need to get stiffer springs, I weigh 219 with out gear. Iamb curious if the stock valving will be overwhelmed by the stiffer springs?

Is it even worth it going about tuning my suspension before the springs and re-valve?

If i were to go up in spring size, should i replace the oil with a thicker oil to help the valving a little bit?
