I would like to try a hare scramble and wanted to get some thoughts on the Wilseyville Race and Hare Scrambles in general. I've raced a few enduros - last year - and really like them.
I've ridden this event the last 2 years, it is the only HS I usually ride in. The trails are epic... including the long section up a stream bed. It used to be a national event and was held in Jan/Feb but was too wet and often had snow. Since it was moved to November the course and weather has been outstanding.
If you are going to pick one D-36 HS to ride in, want spectacular terrain, a challenging course and fun camping, this is probably the one.
How is the race run? Is it part MX track - part trail? Is it scored by how many laps within a givin time - 1-1/2 hours? Sorry for all the ?s - just new to this kind of racing.
It's up above Jackson at Shads Resort. Race is run on private property so trails are always in good shape, not over used. There is no MX track at the course.
