No, just make sure you let it warm up before you go tearing ass on it.. just put your gloved hand on the side of the cylinder while it's warming up, if you feel heat, go for it.. Otherwise, it could cold seize, and that's just expensive.
As for storage.. I like to drain all of the fuel from the tank & carb and then keep it on the stand. Don't like my expensive tires sitting on cold concrete all winter.
