I have had my 91 kdx 250 for a couple months. It ran strong and very reliable. But last week my neighbor put mix in it he used in his weedeater. I didnt know it. We started bike it ran fine for about a minute. Then just kind of bogged down and died. Now it wont start at all.

Drain the gas out of the tank and the carb float bowl. Replace with fresh premium gas, with good oil at the right mix.

Might as well put in a new spark plug (the stock KDX jetting is rich, and plugs foul easily). Try again.

If it doesn't go, you will need to make sure you are getting spark.

I can almost guarantee that the pilot jet is blocked. Take apart the car and clean both jets, regardless of how clean they look. Good luck! :)

An old plug can spark when you test it outside the bike, but still be weak.

Just go ahead and replace it - they don't last forever.

FWIW, low compression from worn rings can cause difficult starting. Chipped, warped or cracked reeds can also cause hard cold starting.
