woods gearing for YZ 250

Anyone gone up a tooth or two on the rear on a 02 yz 250? I do mostly woods riding and if you have how does or did it work?

A tooth or two on the rear will give you a quicker take-off but, you will likely lose some top end! That what happened to me when I changed mine anywayz!

it might make it easier to ride in the slower stuff since you might be able to use 2nd and 3rd instead of 1st and 2nd in some sections. i am going to add 1 or 2 teeth on the back since i ride tracks and never get into 5th

I was convinced to go down 1 tooth when i ordered my new chain and sprocket wrong answer. i needed to go the other way...
