Works Pipe prep?

Hey. My 03 cr 250 has a procircuit works pipe on it. When I bought it the previous owner had let it rust and had done nothing to maintain its look. So I was wondering what is the proper care for a works Pipe?

I know that it is suppose to be oiled, but with what kind of oil?

I use just a tad of WD-40.... no rust yet in 3 years. I rub it on then wipe it down. Jeff.

If it has rusted up, use Scotch Brite pads to remove the rust.

just get the acid based wheel cleaner- spray it on, wash it off and then spray with wd40.

I use PB Blaster to protect my bike, but WD will work just as fine also.

You can sand it and paint it with BBQ grill paint. Then you will not have to worry about rust any more. BBQ grill paint is good for high temps like an exhaust pipe will have, it is also semi gloss so it should look close to the original Honda pipe when your done. Sleeper!
