I’m in a pretty tough predicament. My bike has slightly worn splines on the output shaft. I’m not sure if this is normal on a bike? Should I replace the shaft? Or is this normal? I’ve rode it for about 3 years. I have a 2005 Kawasaki KDX200 that I bought new in 2016. Amazing how nobody bought it after all these years. Anyways the sprocket isn’t held on with a nut and washer. It has a snap ring instead. I’m assuming that the snap ring method is older technology. So since I’ve rode the bike for a while. I’m tempted to just sell it and get a new bike instead of splitting the case and putting in a new shaft.
Any advice and understanding of how the splines wear would be great help. Who knows maybe there is a way to never wear the splines down on the output shaft?
Basically is it normal to wear out the splines on the output shaft after riding the bike for a few years?
