WP shock

Can anyone tell me anything about replacing seals in a WP shock? I have no problem servicing the forks but I can not keep paying $280.00 for $$$-$$$$$$ to service the shock. (the last time the seal blew on the second ride. - Their advice - "don't let anything sticky get on the shaft.")
Any Help? Fluid weight? Air space?
Shock has been revalved

I bet its not the seal and its the clevis joint at the bottom is loose.Also $280 is 2* what you should be paying.

Take it back to who ever did the work and make sure they check it thoroughly. Marcus could be very correct in his assumption!

I understand that it takes about $1500.00 worth of equipment and a little knowledge to work on a shock and I'll pay $280.00 every four months to have it serviced but not every three weeks.
I have talked to the people that have been doing our work and they will be glad to check it for another $280.00

Are you being serious?all shocks take tools and knowledge-thats called running costs.They should not charge much more than for a normal shock.They should warranty all work-i would report them to a consumer watchdog.

You shouldn't have to pay $280.00 every three weeks. And honestly, every 3 months is a little extreme just for an oil and seal change. If it's necessary to change the seal "every three weeks", either they shouldn't be working on shocks, or you shouldn't be taking your shock to them.

Again, make sure they check it COMPLETELY! The oil may not be from the seal.

You should be able to get your shock serviced by a competent shop for about $90 which would include oil and a complete inspection. Any parts such as seals would be extra, but it should be way less than $280.

A proper PDS shock pump does cost around $1250, but I doubt that these people have one and even then they should,nt charge $280 they are screwing you big time
