Clark Mason was kind enough to detail the entire procedure and post it at Thumpertalk . Here's the link

Go ahead and buy the suggested jets PAJ (100) and SJ (65) for the de-oct outlined by Clark at TT. Remember there are no performance advantages to de-octing. Only the peace of mind for NO potential air leaks.

Then try this for a baseline with throttle stop cut, YZ timed, uncorked pipe and no air box lid:

172-175 MJ
48-50PJ
EKP #4
1.5 turns on fuel screw

and get ready to ride a whole new bike.

Ever try the ELN needle? I have it in now and was wondering how it compared to the EKP. Don't forget you need a 100PAJ with that 48 or 50 PJ. The stock 75PAJ is good for the 42 or 45PJ. After changing from the DVP needle I dropped the MJ from 178 to a 172. I won't go back to the DVP or DRS after using an E series needle.

Shaggy.
There is one more mod you can do to your WR. Under the gas tank there is a connector with one black wire and one grey wire. Disconnect the grey wire and you would not believe the difference in mid range power.

You might want to try it before you change your cam timing.
Doesn't hurt the engine and you still have the rev-limiter.

TC,

I only used the jetting configuration (listed above) suggested on TT, developed by JD, Taffy and Clark. It was an old and trusted configuration. So I felt comfortable making changes to my (at the time) current jetting. It was a nightmare just getting to that point and I was not ready to make any changes. But since I was switching to YZ timing, I figured what the heck.

I made both the jetting and timing change at the same time. Between a Friday and Saturday ride. I ended up flatting a couple miles out at Tower but, I was all smiles and have not foulded a plug or had the bike run so good...... ever. Hope you can make it this June;)

I should be out this June. This summer I had to fill in for people that were sick or on vacation at work. I still have WR timing. The enduros in NY and some in PA are pretty tight and I don't know if YZ timing would be good.

The yz timing with the stock wr pipe gave me a softer bottom end, it was nicer in the trees...
But after the pipe and 444cc kit, I have yet to ride in real dirt but look forward to doing something but going sideways.
