xr 50 air filter change

OMG, what a pain in the rear...changing an air filter on the xr 50.
Maybe my hands are too big or something, but I had the hardest time getting the filter off. Are there any tricks to this?

I actually abandonned the attempt, and will wait until I am stripping the bike down for modification. I was not able to get the darn plastic cover out of there, of course I didn't try the "force" method yet.

I don't think you can get that cover out of there. I just push it back as far as I can then slip my fingers in first pull out the metal cover that keeps it in place then pull out the filter. Not easy but not impossible either.

Aha, haven't thought of that yet. I think I will ultimately change that set up and go to some sort of a pod setup
