I had an xr80. and thought it was nice. but after trying out some 2 strokes, i was hooked. If your not very good and dont do motocross or any jumping get the xr, a wonderful bike to learn on. I you will do any motocross at or any jumping get the KX60. In terms of speed and power the kx will blow the xr away, you cant even compare them in tearms of power. I say it depends what you plan to do, motocross, wide open areas, jumping get the kx. Tight trails get the xr.
At 4'9" you are probably a little big for a KX60 even though the seat height is 28 inches. You might look at a KX65 29.9 in seat. Also XR100s 30.5 inch seat are only a little taller than XR80s 28.6 inch seat, almost the same bike. As long as you can touch solid with both feet to start with and the bike is not too heavy to pick up if you drop it you should be fine. Another good starter bike is the Yamaha TTR125 with 30.5 inch seat.
Generally the 2-stroke bikes have much more power for their size, much better suspension, and are lighter. 4-strokes are eaiser to ride, smoother and more dependable, less hassle because you don't have to mix gas and oil. At least in the minis.
I belive u can get a lowering kit for 80's. my friend has one it makes the bike pretty low. i dont know the exact hight tho. also u might try a suzuki ds80. they are about that size. maby a yamaha pw80 but that may be too small. a kx65 sounds perfect for u
