yamaha MX electrical dilemma

Ok, my problem here is that I have a 1976 mx125c that is equipped with a points type ignition with a bad stator and/or condenser which looks to have been modified to fit, and I don't know whether or not the bike ever ran with this setup. From what I can tell on the parts fiche, this bike is supposed to have a cdi type ignition system. I would really like to get rid of its current setup for a cdi type like it is supposed to have. My question is, does anybody know if yz c,d, or x ignitions would work on this bike, or am I going to have to track down an MX system?

gurt, a DT125 or 175 ignition will work. Also, a IT125 and IT175 will work too.

Looks like i am going to need to correct myself. Thw MX125 has the same ignition as the 77-79 YZ125 and YZ100 but not so sure on the 100.

If you dont have any luck finding an ignition, check with Penton Racing. They sell a PVL ignition(cdi). It is quite pricey- I paid $450 for my MX 250- but very simple to set up and maintain, and I am very satisfied with it
