Somewhere I read that a YZ 250 piston can be used in a RM250 but I don't remember why someone would do that or what year works in what RM.

I have a 2004 RM 250 & I'm about to do a new top end so if anyone knows ????

The piston is made by wiseco, check with them first. My 05 RM has the YZ single ring piston and YZ v-force.

that is what dirtrider said in their set up article last year or something... they said all of the race teams are switching them out for the YZ piston so i am guessing it does somethign.

It was the single ring race piston with the electra coating made for the YZ. I remember MXA mentioning something about it.

I ran this setup in my 03 RM250 with a boysen rad valve and sst pipe and stock silencer. I gained some bottom end the power rolled on a little smother but I lost some top end. currently i have the suzuki piston made by wiesco in the bike but give the yz one a shot u might like it. actually it probally works well with the 05 and up rm's due to the fact they fixed the lack of top end power
