I am wanting an 18" wheel assembly for my 1998 YZ400. I have found an assembly off a 1993 WR500. The yamaha parts lists the 1998 YZ hub as part number 4EW-25311-00-00 and the 1993 WR 3SP-25311-00-00.Does anyone know if the 1993 will "just go right on"?

I don't know about YZ wheels in particular, but one thing you could check to get an idea, is if the hub has the same bearings as in the other wheel. You might want to look at a parts diagram or maybe look at some place like the PivotWorks bearings website and see what all wheels thei kit fits in addition to your current hub. That will at least let you know about axle diameter.

Hope that helps some.

I don't think they will bolt right up, but I'm not 100% positive. I believe all of the 98-up bikes have the same spacing and axle diameter, but prior to that it was different.

Possibly you could use the older wheel with your new spacers and that might work or you might have to use the older spacers also.
