Hi,
I'm a noobe to the forum, but hope somebody out there can give me some pointers. Got a 1986 YZ125 that I'm working on. Taking apart the right fork , I notice that it has a rod/spring element below the main spring. I checked out the schematic in the Clymers and this appears to be the "Variable Damper Assembly" for the Type IV fork listed for the YZ125T model.

OK, but after disassembling the left fork (side with the brake caliper), this assembly is completely missing! Only the main spring, spacer and spring seats there. The left fork leg was in rough shape but it didn't appear to have been taken apart. So what gives? Are the two legs supposed to be different or am I completely missing the damper in one leg?
