01 CR125R or 87 KX250

my buddy wants to know whats better for him.... he is 145 pounds....5'7" ( he can blow away in the wind) and he has the option of a stock...( fresh topend) 1987 KX250 for $1100.00 or a 2001 CR125R with a reed valve kit or something... FMF gold series pipe.. rental bars.... a load of xtras..... for $2500.00 .........what would be a better fit for him

The cr is way overpriced. My bud just picked up a clean 02 cr 250 for $2750.

Which did he go with? If I had seen the post I would have voted for the 125. 14 years is a long time in motorcycle development and the '87 is no match for the 2001. Other than peak power, the KX is vastly inferior.
