02 CR250 Rear brake malfunction

My 02 CR250's rear brake started acting up the other day. It was very hot, (100 or so) just riding along, went to hit the brake, straight to the bottom, no brake, then I pumped it a couple of times and the brake came back. It has been doing it ever since, unpredictable. I figure it needs a master cylinder overhaul kit, but before I order one, just wanted to see if anybody else has had this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

That sounds like the likley prob. could be (air in lines, leaky piston seal in caliper, or master cylinder.) Check for fluid leak. If you find one thats the problem. Should'nt be hard to find a leak if there is one.

i had the same problem with my 02 cr250, it was the seals inside the master cylinder. honda sells a piston and seal kit for the master cyl. for about $25

I allready bled the system and replaced the fluid, also there are no external leaks so I guess it must be the master cylinder.
