'02 kdx220 or '99 wr400f

I ride mostly trails, mountains, Oregon and Colorado mostly. I would like to be able to have fun at the dunes also but I could take it or leave it. I can get a '99 wr400f with fmf pipes and demarini bars, very clean for about the same $ as a brand new kdx220. Which bike would I like best?

I have a 99' YZ400F and a 99' KDX 200. I will tell you that the YZ/WR 400 are a handful on tight trails. That is why I have my sons KDX that I borrow for trails when he does not come along.

Of course on the other question when we get the KDX out on the dunes or the open desert it is not nearly as much fun as the YZ (especially in the dunes you are quite limited on what you can do with the KDX).

Personally I am looking at getting a KTM 300 EXC which should give me pretty much a somewhat more balanced solution for both terrains.
