To adjust the compression of the forks, I need a 14mm allen/hex wrench. And the only ones that I can find cost around 20 bucks from Craftsman and others. Is there any where that sell these allen wrenches for a lot less?

I'm no suspention expert, but if you all you need is a 14mm allen wrench, Get a bolt that has a 14mm hex head and bend it 90deg right at the top. Just a thought.

Is there any chance there is a screw insde this 14mm area? I am just asking because my forks have a rubber plug in the 14mm part, and I remove this plug, then turn a screw with a screwdriver.

Kinda OT now, but I looked all over town for a 1/2" drive 14mm Allen to take the forks apart. I was able to get one through McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com) for about $10-12 including shipping, arrived in one or two days.
