1990 e-series KIPS advice please

i have the engine completely striped,,
i have most of the kips valve out,,,
except for the main central exhuast port valve.


how do i get this out?

It’s like cracking a safe left then right then maybe left again. It has to go in a ways for the rack to come out all the way. Then it will pull straight out.

ok cheers guys..
i figured the exhuast valve thing,,, it just pushes out.


now
i could do with some advice on when the exhuast valve should be open... or closed when the operating rod is "out" oot of the cylinder?
