Hi,
I am thinking of treating my CR to a new Ohlins rear shock, what do others think of this? is it a waste of money or money well spent? My current shock is pretty had it and rather than rebuild I thought I'd try an Ohlins, I have always heard good things of Ohlins gear with big improvements on other models, would the CR benefit as well? Thanks in advance.

the showa units on the hondas are pretty good, and i bet you could rebuild it much, much cheaper than the price of a new ohlins.

remember, a shock is only as good as it valving, so if both are well dialled, there would be little in it.

Like bclapham said, unless your Showa was backed over by a truck, it would undoubtedly be cheaper to rebuild. Spend extra on a custom revalve and you'll still be ahead finacially and have a better ride to boot.

oh, by the way I run an Ohlins shock and fork ;)
