2002 CR250 Clutch Basket Removal

Hi, I am new to this site and looking for some help please. I have a 2002 CR250 and I'm replacing my clutch. But I can't figure out how to get my basket off. I've removed the bolt and the center basket, but can't get the outer basket off. Is there a tool for this, or do I need to pull harder? Thanks for you help.

you can try yanking on it but if thats not working you just might need to get a puller.

I don't know about the '02+, but thru '01 I know you had to take off the whole right side engine sidecover, not just the quick-change cover... The basket was just slightly larger than the opening.

^^^^ The entire right-side cover must come off. Remember to drain the coolant. If you go easy, you should be able to salvage the gasket.

Just home from work, I see what you're saying about the whole right side cover. Thanks! Can't wait to get it off and see how much damage I did to the cover trying to pull the basket through. :(

You should spend the 30 bucks and get the manual. Best investment you can make.
