Just bought 03 cr125 first honda ever alway rode kawi or yamaha.But found a good deal.Now i hear cr is a piece of $#@!.Anything I should know or look out for ?Bike hauls ass and I'm stoked. :laugh:
I have always stayed with Yamaha or Kawi also, now have all Kawi, wont ever go back, although I did have an 01 cr125 and fairly good bike just keep an eye on the tabs where the cylinder bolts to the block they are really thin compared to Yam, Kaw and Suzuki they will crack and then it will leak antifreeze, I had to have my cylinder fixed, I didnt like not haveing 6th gear either. My 03 KX 125 would have easily smoked my old 01 cr. Good luck with the bike.
The CR125 is a sweet bike and like the 250 it needs the carb fine tuned to get it running at its full potential. If the previous owner already sorted the carb issue and it revvs clean from bottom to top, then just do the regular maintenance and enjoy it.
