hi, I was wonderen what all your opinions are about the 04 KTM200SX...i can pick one up from a stealership for 5699(canadian)

would this be a smart purchase...or should i spend 1500 - 2000 more on a 05 YZ125/250?

also, i heard from a friend who owns this exact bike, that it starts to wobble...is there anyway to prevent this?

I have an '03. If you set them up wrong they will wobble. You have to have min of 45mm static sag. There is a topout spring in the shock that folks don't take into account when setting sag. Just one turn on the preload adjuster can make a huge difference in the bike. My bike wobbled initially but is now stable - no headshake or wobble since I adjusted the preload.

It is a fun bike, needs to be ridden like a 125.

You wont be disapointed timo. I have a 05 125 with a 04 200 motor in it. These bikes are a blast!! Light and easy to handle.
Like billtx said make sure you set up the suspension right and the bike will work great.

Elf,
I've been tossing the idea around with throwing my 03 200 motor into a 05 also, how well does it work??

Munch, I have not had much track time on the new bike. mostly fire roads, I did ride on a track but it was a jump track just flat with a bunch of jumps. So I don't really have a good idea of how the new frame and suspension are going to work on a rough moto track. Compared to the 03 the brakes are better and it seems to turn better. It also felt stable at speed and I didn't get any headshake.

Nope, still froze up here. Thats a good price, buy it and swap motors. then you can sell the 03 with the new 125 motor in it. That way it wouldn't cost you that much.
