2007 525 EXC-G vs. 525 XC-G

I am struggling to find the differences between the 2007 KTM 525 EXC-G and 525 XC-G. Aside from the obvious, lights, mirrors, etc, are these bikes the same? Is the street legal EXC the same as the XC? If the EXC is just an XC w/ lights and blinkers, why not get it and have the freedom of going on road legally?

Hartsock, 5HP. The street version has a but plug in the exhaust, some sort of collecting canister, and one more critical thing that i can not remeber. Its all just EPA stuff so the bike can be street legal and the price as well as the Tank size are different.

Does that mean that if you put an aftermarket pipe on the 5hp comes back? I know that nullifies the street legal status, but it could be worth the risk.

Hartsock, if you pull the stuff off you get back your power, and if you put on an aftermarket silencer then you might gain more then 5HP.
