300 EXC vs 380

I have a 99 380 EXC and I am thinking about getting a 01 300 EXC. I do mostly woods riding with some forest service roads. Has any one out there ridden both of these bikes. Will the 300 be to boring and will the fuel milage be a little better with the 300. Thanks for any feedback.
