Can someone give me some jetting tips for the east coast, my bike is a 2001 ktm300mxc. Also I will be swapping my clutch hose to a EE steal line, any recommendations as what to use for fluid.
Thanks for the help.

I have an '01 300 MXC here in Illinois, so our terrain and altitude should be similar. For starters, I would immediately go to a smaller pilot jet, a 42. That cleaned mine up quite a bit. I also dropped two sizes on the main jet and I went leaner on the needle clip position. Right now, mine is running pretty clean. A lot of guys change the needle itself, going leaner, but I haven't tried that yet.

Quite a few friends and I are using 40 pilot, 172 main, air screw at 1 1/2 out and NOZI on clip 1 with good results in FL ( sea level and 60-90 deg temps ).

My altitude is a bit different from yours but I think you still may benefit from my jetting set up. I ride from 3000-5000 ft. I also went to the 42 pilot and a 172 main. The biggest change I made was to the 1367N needle. You can get one from Sudco (www.sudco.com) and they call it a CGH. I recently talked to a guy who rides at sea level and used the same jetting (different needle clip position) and said his ran great too. FMF Turbinecore II also helped and saved 2.4 lbs.

I've just started to jet mine but here's what I have so far. Also try the link below..lots of excellent information for jetting a 300 on that webpage.

elevation sea level to 2000'
45-pilot
AS-1 3/4 turns out
main-175
NOZI-2nd clip from the top
#6-slide

I may try the 6.5 slide and drop the pilot to a 42. It seems a little sluggish down low to mid. The top screams nicely...no pinging.
