Thanks everybody! I think I have a starting point now. From the opinions and thoughts that I read here, I am probably going to get the xr springs (also because most say they are plush in the upper part of the stroke) and attempt to put them in myself, then, if all goes well, I'll ride them for a while, probably playing with the settings and oil, and if I'm still not satisfied, I will talk to a couple of local companies that I see at the cross country races regularly, and see if they can help.
How's that for following advice? Seriously, at least now I feel like I have a plan with some idea of what I want to try.
Thanks again, and I'll probably ask more questions when I attempt to put the springs in!
One other note---from the responses I got, I believe it would be a good idea for me to subscribe. Great group!
