400 sx(rfs) How Much???

How much should I be asking for my 10 month old 400sx??? I paid
$7000.oo for it new, and I have about $1000.oo in upgrades. It is in mint condition. Any Ideas??? I'd like to get 5000.00 for it, is this unrealistic??? or is it fair??? No sarcastic responses please! ;) Thanks, Erik

5000.00 is a very reasonalbe price for a used 2001.

Eric - Here's all I can tell you. KTM's don't sell as well as Hondas and Yamamhas here in my area. I looked up Kelly Blue Book: High $5300, Low $3700. The only thing that your bike really has going against it is the 4 speed tranny that is a 6 speed in '01. It is a great ride! Good LucK!!

If it's a 2000 I would probably take anything over 4000.00. The 400 4-speeds are a hard sell.

I would think any used RFS would sell like crazy. My local dealer has people who ask everyday about year old Ktm fourstrokes.

I sure hope I get more than $5000.00 for mine when I sell it this fall:(

Thanks for the input guys, I recently sold a ttr125L within 4 hours of posting it on DRN, and sold a xr200 within 2 days of posting it here also. In fact I received e-mails for three weeks after selling the xr to someone, so I'm just used to selling bikes REALLY fast. I'll just have to be patient, and know that the perfect buyer will come along real soon. Thanks again my fellow pumpkinheads, Erik

It seems that the 400EXC is the bike that everyone is looking for. My local dealer still has a 2000 and a 2001 400SX on the floor but already has a waiting list for 02 400EXCs. I have a new 02 400 EXC coming so I hope that I can get a good buck for my 01 when the time comes.
