83 kdx 200 exhaust

I have a 1983 KDX 200 and was looking for an aftermarket exhaust. The only company that still makes anything even close is DG, however, is is for the 84-85 models. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to make that fit?

'83 through '85 should be interchangeable - the bike had virtually no changes during those 3 years.

That is what I was thinking too but I called a dealer and they said that the pipes on the '83 and '84 KDX's have two different part numbers.....?

I looked at www.buykawasaki.com The '83 clearly has a different silencer from the '84 - 85. The shape of the pipe looks slightly different, especially the stinger that goes into the silencer. But the mounting points for the pipe to the frame look the same. My bet is you might need to make some slight changes to the pipe if you intend to use your '83 silencer, or you could get stock or aftermarket '84 - 85 silencer. DG might be able to help you out, especially if they still sell a spark arrestor/silencer.

Good luck - BTW, I saw someone on the board mention they had an '85 parts bike.
