This is another one of those questions. I have the chance to get a 95 RM 250 in A1 condition or a 99 KX 250 in A1 condition, same price. I sold my 02 RM 250 (which I am not happy about) and wanted to get the opionon of weather since getting off the 02 RM 250 which will be more egronomically similar. Thing is I have had some KDX's and one thing I cannot stand is a low egronomic situation. That is what I liked about the RM, but is the 99 KX better than the 95 RM?
For me, the comfort on the bike is important, I am 5'10" and about 230, I am going to respring a valve, but this question is about comfort. I am finding a recurring trend that say KX's are for shorter people and I do not want to be hunched over all of the time. Your input here is so very appreciated

I am even cosidering a 95 KTM 250 SX well maintained. Thing is the KX is like brand new. But I am all about being dialed in to the bike, I just hate hunching over.
thanks again, just wanted to throw out the ktm...

The KX is a far better bike than the other two mentioned. Is also 4 years newer and easier to get parts for. You can always add good bars that are the proper height for you.

I wouldlnot even consider the Suzuki from 1995. A 1995 KTM...I would not wish that on you!

Geez, how can you be serious? A 95 RM instead of a 99 KX?

The 95 RM is the old style/old frame crap. YOu'll also get a much better suspension on the KX.

The 99 KX was a great bike!

just my opinion, but i felt the same way about the '99 kx250. i felt like i was hunched over to far. the cure for me was a set of protaper s.e. bars with the cr high bend. made a world of diff.( i am 6'1") i am a little biased however because i still currently own said bike.

I guess I am wondering what to do to avoid that when I get the bike, pro tapers seem to be a good idea, I will get the bars with the highest rise. Almost sounds perverted. lol..

I am 5' 10" and never was bothered by the KX. The bike felt great.

Stll, there are about 100 different pro-taper shapes and sizes. One of the is bound to work.

Personally, I love the Doug Henry bend. It is a taler bar with little pullback. The flatness of the bar puts very little pressure on my operated on 5 times wrists.

I would budget a few extra dollars for a top end rebuild. You never know how many hours the used bikes have on them.

New tires are also very nice. Other than that, get the bike and dont look back.

KX is the only choice...to remedy cramped ergos I would get the tallest bars,a tall seat(e.g. Guts Seats) and low boy pegs. Not too much money and should make you feel better.Good luck.
