96 kdx 200 question

i just took a 96 for a spin in hopes of buying. really liked the bike but it has a clicking type sound when the engine idles. the owner said this is typical of the kdx and to call a dealer and he will verify. everything else about the bike was great. what are your thoughts. thanks.

Yep! That's normal. My KDX clicks just like every KDX that I have ever had or ever heard.

Yes my '93 and '96 click just like that. I now poor the whole quart of oil in the trans to quiet it down a little as recommended somewhere on this sight. Seems to help a little.
