Your better off buying a trailer and a hitch for your car. 59 cents a mile is a fortune in it's self not to menchion the $19 dollars a day for just a 14 footer.
Hmmm either a trailer or a truck you would rent. If you get the truck you just put everything in the back and not get the trailer. Or just a trailer, however the trailer they have is either small or big , no in between , a car won't pull the big 1 and I doubt the small 1 is going to be big enough.
So I don't know what to tell you, Look at www.bargaintraderonline.com for a trailer, I realize you don't have time now but maybe for the future?
Well, looks like I'll have forks (that still leak) tomorrow morning. It's nice to know that guys you grow-up with for 32 years won't completely screw you over, just slightly... I'll put them on Friday and should be good to go if 'The Stallion' will start after it's hibernation.
As for transport, I have the greatest of confidence in JimmyD2's anal-retentive, over-planning nature and know we will find transportation somehow. We may be the 2nd U-Haul you see pulling in Saturday morning ;)
I hear talk of a McDonalds. Should we bring food for both days or is it close enough to just eat fast food for the weekend? Also if it is raining cats and dogs all day is this shindig still on? I have trouble throwing the kiss-of-death into my routine if the ground is too wet.
Finally, is anyone there going to have a cell phone (this is to avert a JimmyD2 road-rage-panic-attack-homicidal-killing-spree) in case we get lost or need to pick-up more beer for you guys on the way in?
All I can say is that Jeff better have his headache powders ready for me because if I don't need it for pain Saturday (a very high possibility if you've ever witnessed my lack of skills), I'll be chugging them Sunday morning after a night of bench racing.
hope to see you all Saturday if the gods quit trying to destroy the St. Clairsville crew's weekend...
squad,
get ahold of jeff and get his phone number off him, we'll be there if u need directions if u get lost. mc'donalds is about 10 minutes away if yall wanna eat there, if not i suggest u bring anything that'll burn over a fire, and whatever adult beverage u drink. if it rains, we don't care it's still on. Evryone is meeting at 8 o'clock at mc'donalds if yall are planning on being there
spoke with jimmy a little while ago, ya'll are heading straight for the house since you're coming from the athens side. He's got the number for my house here, we just have to ensure that someone is around here to take a call if you guys get lost. I'm still meeting whomever else at mcdonald's saturday at 8 a.m.
mid 50's, rain late afternoon, so we should get the race in just in time for the rain to start. Richland is fun in the rain though, I just picked up some MSR ****-Tex gear for stupidly cheap so I'm all outfitted for rain (except for that huge hole in the side of my boot  )
well guys we might be in some trouble, the box that my arrows for the course is on the way, which is a good thing, but the bad thing about it is, the box weight 33 pounds, and 3 packs of arrows shouldn't weight that much, so it might not be the right order i am getting, we'll find out tomarrow.
yea buddy, the only problem is the jackets are all mediums unless you get that purple/aqua/black lookin stuff. The medium fits me like a glove, if I ever have to layer anything under it I might be in trouble, but for the money who cares eh :)
I am Alittle beat, Road At wellsville today. Broke a Front brake lever and road most of the day with big finger pump..:) But went to the local dealer and of course they didn't have one.. go figure, but bought a CR lever and did alittle drilling and seems to work ok. blau blau blau...
SMB, if I'm not there by 8:30 just take off, I have a map. Although I might be sleeping in the car so you might want to look for a big white car with trailor either in the McD's parking lot or in the gravel lot behide.
Just wanted to thank all of the guys and gal that made for such a nice time this weekend. It was evident that you all spent a great deal of time putting on the event. I'm not entirely sure of that last hill section, my foot still aches from hiitting that damn stump each time around. Let me know the next time you will be exploring the APV area, sorry I missed out on that one. This time I left you with all of my ribs intact just a missing shroud.
Well I bailed on you b/c I felt like rich, by the time I got there the rain would be coming down and I had no intention of sticking around till sunday anyways, talk to bill and he said dennis was going to still meet up with him at bp.
Rich and I would like to come down this saturday, not sure what your plans are jeff, we just looking to get in some seat time and do some trails if your not game.....would you mind us parking in your field there and taking off from your house.... I haven't talk to rich about where to park if jeff isn't around....not real sure if parking is an issue.
We got pretty lucky with the weather. It was warm with periodic rain. The big storm didn't blow through till we were on our way to get some Pizza and Beer. Dave and I got a lot of "Parade Laps" in before the race even started. It is amazing what even a little rain does to those trails though.
saturday's good for me too, I might even have the GasGas in it's new blue plastic by then :)
By the way, if you guys didn't see it there's a ride report in the ride/race reports subforum.
I might be up for this as well. I need to decide between riding with you guys on Sat. or racing at Honda Hills (HS) on Sunday. I will need to locate some radiator shrouds first.
